Milesight: LoRaWAN®-Based for Reducing the Energy Consumption of Buildings

Milesight LoRaWAN® Based Lighting Control Solution

Light is the source of all life and is closely related to people’s daily lives. People often overlook the presence of light, which leads to forgetting to turn them off. Milesight Smart Light Controller sets up a bridge that helps users gain quick access to smart lighting control at low cost and high returns.

Challenges

Multiple and Flexible Controls

Large office and public buildings have more lighting fixtures and larger lighting zones. The conventional lighting control mode is isolated and inflexible, and it can only be used on-site by an individual. Realizing remote control, timing control, and automatic lighting that turns on and off based on various variables is challenging.

Alarming

Data on power consumption is not gathered by traditional light controllers. Without monitoring tools and cloud platform data analysis, users are unable to identify the causes of energy waste in a timely manner.

Solution

The WS558 Smart Light Controller can control eight circuits, however each circuit can be managed independently. It has 8 local switch buttons for local control, making it possible to test the connectivity of lights without using a network. The WS558 can be installed in accessible ceiling gaps or other suitable locations, but it is important to make sure that the lamps and circuits are connected correctly. With the help of Milesight ToolBox, a simple-to-use setup application, users may simply configure it via NFC.

To achieve scene-based control, full on and full off of lights in 1 second, Milesight CoWork Series devices like the WS101, WS202, and WS156 may interact directly with the WS558 using Mileisght D2D Protocol with LoRaWAN®. Customers may also implement remote lighting control and establish timing schedules using the Milesight IoT Cloud mobile app or website at any time. Even if users fail to switch off the lights when they leave the building, they won’t be hit with skyrocketing utility costs. The Milesight LoRaWAN® gateway transmits all collected data to the Mileisight IoT Cloud, which generates frequent reports and alerts users in real time if circuits are shorted or overloaded. Additionally, the WS558 LN Type includes power consumption measurement.

Benefits

Easy to Use, Easy to Install

Installation of the WS558 is simple in all types of walls, ceilings, electrical boxes, etc. NFC technology enables users to complete the configuration rapidly.

Labor and Material Cost Saving

By implementing Milesight LoRaWAN® Based Lighting Control Solution, you may lower the cost of wiring, the number of switch panels, and the installation master’s workload.

Energy Savings with Flexible Control

Users can control the lights whenever and wherever they want with remote, scheduled, centralized, and scene-based control, and they can create a precise schedule of up to 18 hours.

Remote Monitoring and Warning

Real-time data collection and alarms help to decrease electrical risks by providing extensive information on lighting power consumption as well as the operational status of equipment and circuits.

Milesight D2D Communication

To provide low latency (less than 1s) and direct control without a gateway, support the Milesight D2D protocol.
